Task Assignment Agreements

Task Assignment Agreements are used to gain agreement between 2 or more parties in relation to a piece of work to be delivered. Typically an agreement will be between a project manager (who is requesting a task to be done) and a functional manager who is managing a team of resources (who can perform the task). The agreement outlines the scope of a task, its target start and finish dates, and the work effort required of resources. The benefits of doing this are:

  • There is clarity of expectations between parties.
  • This is a form of planning, and therefore all parties understand more about the project and/or task in advance, therefore reducing project and operational risk.
  • Resource shortfalls/conflicts may be identified earlier and therefore resolved earlier.
