Progress planning for second data centre
|
Monash has decided to engage a third party to manage its second data centre and is currently in the process of assessing tender responses.
|
|
Optimise electricity consumption in the current date centre;

- Metering
- Lighting
- Air conditioning
- Server standards
|
Additional metering systems are currently being designed to allow Monash to accurately determine where power is being consumed in the data centre.
|
|
Implement server virtualisation to reduce power consumption of server infrastructure
|
To date 85 servers had been virtualised.

|
Pursue the implementation of power saving measures in office equipment;

- Embed standards in the PC and laptop tender
- Convert power settings on legacy computers
- Embed power savings in MFD tender
